Southridge Brewing's Beer
Uniquely Rooted Traditional Style Quality Beers Crafted for Our Community
Southridge Brewing's beer philosophy is built on quality execution of traditional American and European styles relying on balance and drinkability. Southridge's beer is derived from traditional and proven methods, but not afraid to take an unconventional approach, when warranted, to push boundaries with intention.

Southridge Stout
American Stout
Southridge Stout, our flagship American stout, pours a smooth black color with an off-white head. The aroma is a clean, classical American stout mix of roasted barley, chocolate, and coffee. A light to medium mouthfeel ushers in an initial mild dark chocolate flavor quickly followed by the classic bitter and roastiness of the roasted barley and chocolate malt. The sip finishes clean with a lingering chocolate and roastiness that subtly dries out the palate and leaves you reaching for the next sip. Southridge Stout clocks in at an easy drinking 5.2%, so it is a great year-round stout for enjoying a few pints while hanging with friends and neighbors.

This beer is perfect for sitting at the bar and enjoying a pint or two. Or to enjoy after you send the grandkids back to their parent's house.

Chestnut Gathering
Golden Ale with Chestnuts
Meet Southridge Brewing's Chestnut Gathering.
Chestnut trees have a long and storied history throughout the world. In many cultures, the chestnut tree lived, figuratively and literally, at the middle of the community. As a perennial staple food crop, building material, habitat, and gathering place the chestnut tree flourished as a community center in many cultures. There is even a long history of making fermented beverages with chestnuts.
Our brewer has spent years working in the sustainable food arena. As a part of that work, he has spent time planting chestnut farms with Southern Ohio Chestnut Company and Route 9 Cooperative. During one of those plantings, a conversation around the history of fermented chestnut beverages sparked a research partnership that has resulted in several iterations of chestnut based beverages. Brewed in partnership with Route 9 Cooperative, Chestnut Gathering adds the next step in the series of experiments.
Thousands of years later chestnut trees are still bringing communities together to start conversations. Grab a pint of Chestnut Gathering and start a conversation.
Chestnut Gathering pours into the glass with a beautiful golden color with a white head. The aroma is sweet, woody, floral, and caramel. This 4% ABV, light-bodied golden ale at first sip is clean and malt forward. Quickly, as the beer coats the palate, a salted caramel like flavor appears. The aftertaste is dry and unmistakably roasted chestnut. Chestnut Gathering is almost like a blondie dessert bar in a glass.

Dead Fall
Double IPA
It is February 1874.
A temperance movement has spread across Southern Ohio. Most notably to our story is the temperance movement known as the Women's Crusade. The Women's Crusade turns their attention to New Vienna saloonkeeper John Calvin Van Pelt. What ensues becomes a moment known as the New Vienna Whiskey War; an entertaining and wild story in Clinton County history. Complete with a twist ending.
The name of Van Pelt's saloon? Dead Fall.

Dead Fall pours a rich reddish-amber with a white head. The hop forward aroma is led by herbal, woody, and resinous notes with lingering citrus and pine. A warm alcohol aroma can be found on the tail end of the sniff. This full bodied double IPA is unapologetically hoppy from start to finish. It reminds the drinker of the beers popular during the IBU wars of several decades back. The flavor bounces between woody, herbal, citrus, resin, and pine all on a semi-sweet malt base. The lingering flavor coating the tongue is a brite herbal, pine flavor. Clocking in at 8.6% ABV and 100+IBU the aggressive nature of Dead Fall is a fitting host to the moniker preserved through time by an interesting moment in Clinton County history.
